Every month I allow my private coaching members to pick my brain and ask me questions about improving their presentation skills and what to do ‘behind the scenes’ in their speaking business.

During last month’s Presentation Power Coaching Call, I took 90 minutes answering various questions.

My answer to one Speaker’s question.

Question Asked –> “How do you develop your past experience into learning lessons that you can apply to your talks?”

My Answer: –> Listen to the Below Audio

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Here are some of the other questions that I answered on the call:

  • When doing a day-long event, is it okay if they are not always being entertained and smiling the whole time? I get exhausted trying to be high energy the whole time, can you advise?
  • How do you address one or two people who are a little too comfortable and decide to engage in a some side conversation during the presentation?
  • How do you develop your past experience into learning lessons that you can apply to your talks?
  • How long should your bio & pitch sections of your talk be for an average 45 minute talk?
  • Do you put verbiage in your contracts stating that if the organization who hired you found your talk ’satisfactory’ that they will provide you with a couple of referrals and/or people whom you can contact?
  • How does a speaker create learning lessons from their past experience (can you give specific steps or a model)
  • What are your biggest tips to mastering your talk besides practicing everyday?
  • How long should your bio & pitch sections of your talk be for an average 45 minute talk?
  • What are some highly effective habits that you and other very successful speakers have, that you notice less successful speakers lack?

If you have similar questions, this monthly coaching call is definitely for you.
